Are any of the “new” parents older in age?
I have wanted to adopt for many many years, and am wondering if being an older parent (with wisdom and seasoning) should be a deterrent? Are we doing the child a disservice…..or is love and a family enough?
We do have grown children and grandchildren…..one of our children was chosen as well…….but I can’t remember which one.!!

Virginia, I had the same thought about whether we were doing the children a disservice. I am 47 and we are adopting our 3rd Special Needs angel from China. The benefits that you could provide to a child in a Chinese orphanage far outweigh the inconvenience to the child of being an “old” parent. I would encourage anyone, young or old, to “take the plunge”. It will be a blessing beyond what you ever expected.

These babies know the value of what’s inside of a person’s heart and the insignificance of the age of the outside of the body.

“But whoever has this world’s goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him?’
