Great Wall's Regional Office Directors hold free informational workshops across the country and abroad almost every month to help educate potential families who may be interested in creating their Forever Family through a Chinese adoption. In May 2007, the Chinese Center of Adoption Affairs (CCAA) made some changes regarding their adoption program eligibility requirements. At these workshops, you will learn more about these changes as well as discuss specific information regarding adopting from China. You will also have the opportunity to meet the parents and children of at least one adoptive family, hear their story and ask questions about their experience. Hearing about the Chinese adoption experience from the perspective of an adoptive family will make your heart pound! You will hear about their travel experience in China and the day their adopted child was placed in their arms. For any family considering international adoption, these workshops are a powerful experience and often a glimpse into the incredible journey they are about to embark on.
Typically, these adoption workshops are held on weekends, but occasionally weekday evening workshops are offered to fit families' busy schedules. If you are not able to attend a scheduled workshop, you can contact a Regional Officer directly by phone or by email and they will be more than happy to schedule a consultation meeting with you.
