CCAA Waiting Child Update

Dear Great Wall Families,

We are excited to announce that the CCAA has issued a new guideline in regards to the placement of Waiting Children!

Previously, when children were placed on an agency’s individual list, the agency was limited to families who were newly pursuing the program or were already logged-in with their agency.  The CCAA has announced they will now allow families who are logged-in to switch agencies if they find their child on an agency’s individual list.  This means, we are now able to reach out to ALL families in order to find forever homes for our individual list children.

Typically, an agency will have 10-30 children on their individual list.  Great Wall currently has 68 children on our individual list seeking families!  These children range in age from 8 months up to 13 years with varying levels of special needs.  Our desire is to find forever families for each and every one of these precious children.

We have posted a de-identified list of our children on the Waiting Child portion of our website.  This can be accessed at:

http://www.gwca.org/why_great_wall/waiting_child_program.  We do require that families have a Waiting Child application on file to gain any further information about the children.  The application can be found at http://www.gwca.org/node/254.  Upon submission of the application, you will be given a password which will allow you to log-in and request the file for a specific child.

Great Wall is more than willing to work with families who are logged-in with another agency to adopt a child from our individual list.  Please note this is not permissible for a child from the Shared Agency list.  For more information on the process to switch your dossier to Great Wall, please email me directly!

Sincerely,

Stephanie Crouch
