Since 1996, Great Wall has assisted the Chinese government in placing more than 5,000 children with parents. Between the headquarters located here in Austin Texas and the sister office in Beijing China, they strive to be experts at exceeding China’s requirements and adoptive families’ expectations by staying updated on all areas of China adoption.
There are seven areas that you will pass through along the way that each require specific knowledge and attention to detail. Our educated staff can help you with a range of service; from gathering your documents to monitoring your adjustment after you return home. Read more about our service plans.
An adoption consultant speaks with, answers potential families’ questions and can send them a free info packet. The Adoption Consultant also communicates with the China Division checking potential families’ eligibility.
To speak or write to a Great Wall representative, contact Kerry Campbell at (512)323-9595 ext. 3040 or email at kerry@gwca.org
The Assessment Team reviews and screens a potential family’s application in accordance with both Great Wall and CCAA requirements.
Regardless of which service plan you choose your dossier is safe with Great Wall. We are sometimes surprised by the stories we hear about families’ previous experience with other agencies’; misinformation, lack of communication, lost documents, and even lost dossiers.
As an addition to Dossier Consulting we offer a dossier preparation service called the Dragon Dossier Service, in which we will not only guide you in gathering your documents for the CCAA, but we will also get them certified by the appropriate Secretary of State, authenticated by the appropriate Chinese Consulate or Embassy and compile them for you! Read more about Dragon Dossier Service.
When we send your dossier to China, you will enter the referral phase of your adoption. Our experienced Referral Education Counselors are available throughout your wait for the referral of a child. We provide the following services and much more during the referral phase.
After you have accepted your referral for a child, you will begin working with a travel advisor to arrange your trip to China. The Great Wall Travel Advisors will share their wealth of knowledge and assist you in all facets of arranging your travel:
Great Wall’s travel advising services don’t end when you leave for China, in fact, our service is just beginning. Families are met at the airport by their Great Wall China Guide, and escorted throughout China for the duration of their travel.
Great Wall provides a scenic day long tour of Beijing that includes opportunities to meet local people and preserve memories on film. Families experience firsthand the culture and history of their child’s birthplace
Our China Division located in the capital of China, Beijing, readily communicates with the CCAA as they are only a few blocks down the street from the CCAA. Dossiers are hand delivered to CCAA for registration every week. The Beijing office is also our base for the Great Wall China Guides. Read more about our China Division.
The Great Wall China guides: Most of our guides are permanent staff who work exclusively for Great Wall. Which means their only agenda is making sure your stay in China is the best it can be. Our guides provide every family with the following services:
The Great Wall China Guides have an unparalleled reputation for excellence within the Chinese adoption community. In fact, many families become so attached to their China Guides that they continue to send letters and photos to them, even years after they have returned home with their child. Families adopting a second child from China often request the guide from their first adoption. Our China Guides are that good!
When you return home with your child, a Great Wall Post Adoption Counselor will welcome you home and provide you with information about:
Post Adoption Reports: Your post adoption counselor will advise you and periodically send reminders about your post adoption reports. The purpose of each report is to let China and Great Wall know how everyone is adjusting to the adoption.
China requires two post-placement reports:
